My Favorite Mahjong Tiles at Every Price Point

Entering the world of Mahjong is equal parts exciting and overwhelming—especially when it comes to choosing your tiles.
With so many beautiful brands and styles available, it can be hard to know where to start.
Consider this your curated guide to finding the perfect set, at every price point.
I’m also deeply passionate about supporting women-founded Mahjong brands—many of which are small, growing, and doing incredibly original, design-forward work.
NOTE: Please be patient with these small emerging brands.Keeping inventory is a struggle. Believe me, they would love to have a ton of inventory to sell!. The recent surge in Mahjong’s popularity in the US has made the suppliers not able to keep up with current demand.
Here are my favorite Mahjong tile brands—each one creating original, design-forward sets and founded by women I’m proud to support.
💗 Entry Level Finds (Under $250)

-Amahj: I love this brand because she has original designs that feel custom and high end for $158 and $258. I am obsessed with their Garden stamped set at $158, what?! They also have mats, cards and a very cute travel set. MLN10 for 10% off with this brand

-Mahjong Co: This is the sister company of Oh My Mahjong. They only carry tiles. They have 2 sets on Amazon for $164 (but only until Amazon runs out of that inventory) and 3 additional sets on their website for $215. I adore their designs, my favorite is Celestial. MLN10 for 10% off with this brand
✨ The Sweet Spot ($250–$400)

-Woodland Mahjong Society:I have been so impressed with this brand! Their sets are high quality at a great price. Even more impressive, they donate a portion of their proceeds to a chosen nonprofit—you can see exactly where the donation goes on each tile listing.I particularly love their Seasons sets and the upcoming Joy Tortoise set. They come in four colors (representing the four seasons) at a great price of $325. They also offer other sets, mats, racks, and accessories. MLN10 for 10% off with this brand

-Miss Mahjong: These gorgeously designed tiles are truly special. I love their saying: “You have a strong personality. Your Mahjong tile set should, too.” They offer a few fun personalities to choose from—Miss Darling, Miss Classic, Miss Cowgirl, and Miss Out of the Office (travel set)—each special in its own way. A big standout here is Miss Classic in Jade and Malachite. Jade is one of my favorite sets—it feels curated, special, and unique. Truly a set you keep forever. All of her sets are priced at $375, and she also creates mats and accessories to match each personality. MLN10 for 10% off with this brand

-Bam Bird Boutique: This brand has the sweetest designs, from panda jokers to cloudy winds. Their sets range from $295–$350. The big standout here is DECO—another set you collect and keep forever. They also offer more modern mats and great quality accessories. Another very sought-after favorite is their tortoise tiles and travel set—chef’s kiss! MLN10 for 10% off with this brand

-Peace Love Mahjong: They have a modern, approachable take on Mahjong, and I love them for it! A standout for me from this brand is their wooden racks—great quality, beautiful colors, and a really good price point. They also offer simpler mats and great accessories. Another standout is their Taylor tiles, inspired by Taylor Swift—my daughter’s favorite (and only) set. She’s already told me this one is going to college with her… MLN10 for 10% off with this brand

-Let’s Mahj On: Fun tiles based on themes like garden, tennis, cocktails, nautical, and more. They are colorful and fun, with sets priced at $375. The Garden set is a standout here. Their winds are simply magical!!! MLN10 for 10% off with this brand

-My Fair Mahjong: They have great accessrieos and hosting goodies. They have a large destination series that is super fun/. My favorite is Scandinavian set. So pretty! And they carry the best quality and price acrylic 20" racks in so many colors.
💎 Premium & Collector Sets ($400–$600+)

-Bespoke: I love this Dallas-based brand. They carry a wide range of styles, from florals to pop art. They are also the only company that sells electronic tables. They do fun collaborations with a variety of artists, ranging from Gray Malin to an upcoming collaboration with the Grateful Dead. My absolute favorite tiles are their XL tiles, which come in different designs. They are big and chunky, and feel amazing to play with. Originally designed for their electronic tables, they work beautifully on a regular table as well. I don’t own an electronic table, so I’ve only used them on my regular mahjong table. -Oh My Mahjong: One of the original larger brands that helped bring beauty to the modern Mahjong table, especially in the Southern states. Their popular tiles are known for fresh color palettes and fun, sweet details. Here, you’ll find a larger selection of tiles and mats. My favorite tiles are Dandy (sadly retired) and Palm Royale. Many of their mats are standouts as well—Palomino, Jade, and Capri (retired) are some favorites. MLN10 for 10% off with this brand
One thing to note: their tiles are a little smaller than other sets, so their racks are shorter (18.5” instead of the more standard 20” that fits most brands). Sets range from $400–$475.

-The Mahjong House: Elegant and timeless. Their tile design leans closer to traditional tiles, with the exception of their butterfly dragons. Easy to play, easy to teach with, and wonderful quality. My favorite is the classic Navy—it’s like a pair of jeans; it goes with everything. They’ve recently expanded their collection to include more colors and styles. Their Deco Mother of Pearl is another beautiful set. Sets range from $454–$545.

-The Mahjong Line: Modern, curated, inspired, and colorful—that’s how I would describe this brand. My favorite colorway is Plum, but my favorite tile design is Lucky. I also really appreciate their thoughtful, curated packaging. From every angle, you can tell it’s been carefully considered. Sets range from $395–$495.
Please know there are so many companies producing tiles out there.
These are just my personal favorites!
